This class is for anyone who knows how to spin and is ready to take it to the next level. Learn plying techniques for the drop spindle: we'll spin single-ply yarns together to make multi-ply yarns for a range of knitting, crocheting, and weaving projects. We will also explore color play. Bring your singles and your spindle; leave with some beautiful new handspun yarn. Note: Kristen will also bring her dyed roving for sale should students want more.

Instructor: Kristen Judkins

Kristen is a fiber farmer in Bethel, VT. She started Gilead Fiber Farm 10 years ago, after a love affair with spinning helped her determine her dream sheep, the Finn and Shetland cross. Kristen has been spinning for almost 20 years and has processed and spun dozens of varieties of wool, alpaca, and goat fleece. She now works at Mad River Fiber Arts & Mill in Waitsfield, where she processes her own wool into yarn, along with the wool of many VT farmers. Kristen also dyes all her own wool and loves to share that knowledge with others.
