November 2018 Schedule (No Classes November 20th - 25th)

Teen/Adult Ballet

Skill Level: All          Ages: 13+

Students will learn many of the aspects that go into ballet, including but not limited to: vocabulary, proper placement and posture, musicality, and discipline. Through barre and center routines we will work on strengthening, memorizing choreography, and connecting to music, all while catering to each individual’s skills and levels in a healthy environment. This class is open to teens and adults of all levels; no previous experience necessary.

Please wear a leotard and solid-color fitted tights (preferably pink) as well as well-fitting ballet slippers or ballet toe socks. No large jewelry, please. Hair should be neatly groomed and appropriately styled off the face and neck in a bun, when possible. Ballet skirts may be worn. Men may wear a fitted white shirt and black tights.

All-Level Yoga

Skill Level: All          Ages: Adults

Students at all levels, including beginners, are invited to join these classes. Clear instruction will be given in breathing technique, warm-up, and posture flow. New students will develop body awareness, posture alignment, and core strength in basic poses, while experienced students are encouraged to explore more advanced variations in familiar postures. Everyone works to his or her own ability and comfort level.

Ballet I

Skill Level: All          Ages: 6 +

Youngsters will be introduced to the wonderful world of ballet through beginner exercises to develop proper technique, as well as lots of fun jumps, leaps, and turns! We will go through the basic moves and vocabulary of ballet, all while building muscle and musicality, and having fun along the way. No previous experience necessary.

Movement & Games for Kids

Skill Level: All          Ages 4+

In this class, we will explore rhythm and movement in fun, casual ways. We will play games that get our bodies moving to keep us healthy and get some energy out. These games will be fun and challenging! Are you ready?

Dress code and details: Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in. No jeans. Socks are discouraged

Viva Dance Fitness

Skill Level: All         Ages: All Ages

Viva Dance Fitness is a cardio workout that lets you shake your stress away! It’s a wonderfully fun mix of many different styles of dance, including Latin, Bhangra/Bollywood, swing, modern, hip-hop, belly dance, K-pop, country, and more. Get fit while having a great time!

Viva Dance Fitness is for everyone, no matter your age or skill level. We strive for participation, not perfection!

Young Dragons

Skill Level: All       Ages: 4+

This class offers an introduction to martial arts with basic techniques emphasizing body conditioning, coordination, flexibility, and strength. Students will learn a wide variety of stances and kicking and striking techniques that will then be combined into traditional bare-hand routines that introduce coordination of stepping, blocking, striking, and kicking while developing muscle memory. We will also be learning some valuable self-defense techniques.

Dress code and details: Please wear a solid black short-sleeve T-shirt and solid black fitness pants. No large or long pieces of jewelry, please. Hair should be neat and styled off the face, if possible. 

Mondays: 4 - 5 pm

The Instructors

Ryan Crowley

Ryan has studied martial arts since 1997 and has received his second degree black belt in Kung fu. Ryan has a family of 6 and is an acupuncturist and Manual Osteopath by profession.

Robin Darrow

Robin Darrow has been teaching yoga to children, teens, and adults in Vermont for several years. She earned her 200-hour yoga teacher certification at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. Robin teaches using clear and detailed verbal cues for a gentle to intermediate vinyasa flow style. She focuses on making her classes a comfortable, nonjudgmental, welcoming environment. Robin enjoys teaching in a gentle and mindful way, making sure that students feel comfortable to move at their own pace and encouraging them to listen to their bodies. She focuses on helping students find the relationship between the body, the mind, and the breath, and she enjoys helping students learn to find freedom and release in their bodies so that they can move through life with comfort and competency.

AnnaMaria DiPietropaolo

AnnaMaria DiPietropaolo grew up in Washington, DC, and Vermont, where in high school she was part of the Teen Jazz company at Montpelier’s Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio. She attended Bates Dance Festival’s Professional Training Program and has taught dance at Lost Nation Theater's kids’ camps. AnnaMaria has studied a wide variety of dance subjects, including en pointe and contemporary ballet, old- and new-school hip-hop, house, locking, popping, modern dance, jazz, tap, fusion, contact improv, composition, and dance film. She has worked with Hanna Satterlee, Rennie Harris, and Urban Artistry and is a member of Amia Cervantes's company. AnnaMaria hopes her approach to teaching gives students a solid understanding of the discipline required to be a dancer as they work on their personal goals in a healthy environment.

Sierra Tabor

Sierra became a licensed Zumba fitness instructor six years ago. Since then she has stepped away from the Zumba franchise to start her own dance fitness classes without Zumba’s restrictions. Working solo has allowed Sierra to create more diverse workouts, resulting in a challenging, multicultural, always fun way to get fit and stay that way. Go home feeling refreshed and confident!

Cost: 

Classes by Ryan Crowley: $15 per class, $12 per class with a 10 class punch card.

Classes by Robin Darrow: $15 drop-in, 5-class punch card for $65.

Classes by AnnaMaria DiPietropaolo: $10 per class- Kids Movement and Games; $12 per class- Ballet I; $15 per class Adult Ballet per class.

Classes by Sierra Tabor: $7 each, your first class is always free.
