While you are here in picturesque Bethel, you should visit some of our other local businesses:
Here in the Arnold Block:
Atelier Silver & Stone is a jewelry workshop where you can learn to create beautiful wearable art! Ever wanted to create your own rings for your special someone? Or create earrings for yourself or gifts? Come take a class!
Tessa’s Hot Pilates classes are a fun, challenging, full body, low-impact, high intensity workout using Pilates principles. Performed on a yoga mat and towel in a warm room with energetic music. It is designed for any fitness level, and every move can be modified, making it a safe and fun workout for all! If you’re looking for something a little slower, check out her Kinstretch classes that use scientifically proven principles to create improved joint health, body control, injury prevention, physical longevity, and greater movement capacity.
Around Town:
Babe’s Bar is the local watering hole. Written up recently in the Boston Globe, we are thrilled to see crowds there each weekend, and it’s still quiet enough on week nights that locals can stop in for a quiet beverage or two. Check out their trivia nights or other awesome events!
BarnArts is a great arts center with theatrical productions, concerts, and events throughout the year. BarnArts does not operate out of one venue, but instead uses existing community venues or outdoor spaces, mostly in Barnard such as the town hall, a community church, and a local organic farm. They also periodically use stages in neighboring towns and work extensively with schools across the region.
Bethel University is our answer to cabin fever! Each March, many locals and business owners hold a class or meet-up for folks to get together and shake off the long, cold, grey winter blues. Check out the class listings for everything from boat making, to how to play badminton, to a giant nerf war in the local school gym.
Bethel Village Sandwich Shop doesn’t have a website, but it deserves a shout out! Located right along Main Street in Bethel, we are spoiled with their fresh sandwiches and delicious french fries! They make a great breakfast too!
Day Breaks Glass Teaching Studio is a lovely art studio on Main Street that specializes in stained glass and mosaic art!
Earthwise Farm and Forest is where it’s at! Looking for local produce, raw milk, grass fed beef, garlic, flowers, holiday wreaths, heirloom turkey, or Profanity Pottery. Check out her classes–butter and cheese making is so much fun!
Kiss the Cow Farm wins the prize for best farm name in the valley! Check out their farm store or find them at many of our local markets.
Mills Hardware is the place to go when you have a project in your home or shop. Brad is lovely and always knows just how to help complete projects in the most efficient and beautiful way possible! And if Mills Hardware doesn’t have what you need, they can point you in the right direction.
Roma’s Butchery is our newest butcher in the area after not having one for many years. This woman-owned business is badass, and she always makes sure you know how to cook the cut you’re taking home.
South Royalton Market is not here in Bethel, but if you are visiting the area, it is not to be missed. This local co-op and carries everything a Vermonter might need to avoid a larger grocery store, especially when winter travel keeps us closer to home. Fresh produce, local treats like popcorn and honey, bulk items, fresh bread, craft beers, and a cheese tasting every Thursday are just some of the treats that await you.
Something Wicked Cannabis Dispensary is steps below Main Street and worth a visit! They will entice you with a wicked array of herbs, potions, and confections to let go of responsibility for a bit and take a break - something we could all use these days! Look for their new herb garden over the summer and a picnic table to sit, have a snack, and enjoy our local waterfall.
Stitchdown Farm is THE place for lovely summer blooms. Their farm stand overflows with flowers, and they have a spring and summer flower club! They even have a new “flower sprinkle” product–dried edible flower sprinkles to add beauty to any meal!
